Chilean star forward Alexis Sanchez has finally joined French club Olympique Marseille on a free transfer after leaving Inter Milan. The Ligue 1 club announce the arrival of Sanchez on August 10, Wednesday. The former Arsenal and Barcelona player had signed a one-year contract deal at the Velodrome after passing a medical. Alexis Sanchez has a year left on his Inter Milan deal but both the club and the player mutually decided to terminate his contract. This decision came after is was made clear that  he was no longer part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans. Sanchez has score nearly 250 goals in his entire career. He is the ninth signing of Marseille in the current summer transfer window.It will be quite new for him to play in France. Marseille will be Sanchez’s sixth club in Europe after Udinese, Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter. His arrival is definitely a boost for Marseille as they have also returned to the European football this season.  The club finished as runner-up in Ligue 1 just below PSG. At Marseille, Alexis will link up with three other ex-Gunners, namely Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac, and Nuno Tavares.

Sanchez came to limelight during his spell at Barcelona. After that he almost became a legend at Arsenal. He scored 80 goals and make 45 assists in 166 games, winning two FA Cups in the process. The lowest moment of his career came when he joined Manchester United. After that he joined Serie A club, Inter Milan and spent three years there. helping it win the Serie A title in 2021. The 33-year-old spent three seasons at the Stadio Meazza, scoring 20 goals in 109 appearances with the Serie A giants. However, it did not go well for him in Italy too as he started just nine games at the San Siro last season.
