Indian Football Team Squad for 2022 World Cup qualifiers
Indian Football Team coach Igor Stimac announced his 28-man provisional squad for India’s upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers which are scheduled to take place in Qatar in the month of June. The skipper Sunil Chhetri is back in the squad after missing India’s last couple of friendlies due to Covid-19. FC Goa midfielder Glan Martins has earned his first call up in the Indian squad. Subhasish Bose and Pronay Halder have also earned a place in Stimac’s team. ATK Mohun Bagan’s Prabir Das and FC Goa’s Seriton Fernandes have not been included in the squad after testing positive for coronavirus. Whereas, players like Ashutosh Mehta, Rahul KP and Asish Rai miss out due to injuries. At present, India are currently sitting on third spot in the points table. They will try to collect as many points possible from the remaining fixtures so that they can secure their qualification for the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying third round. June 7: Bangladesh vs India (IST 7.30 PM).
June 15: India vs Afghanistan (IST 7.30 PM).

Indian team will play their first match of June campaign against hosts Qatar on June 3. Their second match is against Bangladesh on June 7. The last fixture of June is against Afghanistan on June 15.
