Pakistan Squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2021 announced

On Monday, Pakistan Cricket Board announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 starting from October 17 in Oman and UAE. This same Pakistan squad will also play against New Zealand and England in the upcoming T20Is. Pakistan will play their T20 World Cup 2021 opener against India on 24 October.

Pakistan is scheduled to play five T20Is against New Zealand in Lahore between 25 September and October 3. After that, they will host England for two T20Is on 13 and 14 October at Rawalpindi.

Pakistan’s veterans Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik were unable to find a place in the squad. The Pakistani team selectors chose youth over experience with the inclusion of Azam Khan over Sarfaraz Ahmed. Shoaib Malik has not played for Pakistan in the T20 format since September 2020.

Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah are the surprise names in Pakistan T20 World Cup 2021 Squad. They were not included in the squad for the tours of England and West Indies.
