Why Deepak Chahar is not playing in T20 World Cup 2022?
Deepak Chahar is not playing in T20 World Cup 2022 because he did not get a place in the 15-member squad of India. He has been kept in standby players. The selectors did not pick him because the T20 World Cup is taking place in Australia and the conditions there do not favor much to swing bowling. Therefore, the selectors decided to go with veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar only.

Why Deepak Chahar is not playing in Asia Cup 2022?
Deepak Chahar has been named in the list of standbys along with Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel. However, it is quite obvious that these players will remain unused because there are already four players on the bench.
After Bumrah and Harshal Patel’s injuries and a very small number of inexperienced pacers, it was assumed that Deepak Chahar will get a place in the squad for Asia Cup. However, Chahar was able to made only to the standbys list.
Chahar was absent from competitive cricket after he suffered a back injury. He also missed the entire season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Chahar was recovering from a quadricep tear at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) when he picked up a back injury while undergoing rehab in Bengaluru.
Deepak Chahar failed to get a place in the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2022 because of his fitness issues. After recovering from the hamstring injury and a layoff of six months, Deepak joined the Indian side recently and played in Zimbabwe ODIs and did well. He missed the whole IPL and a lot of international series due to this injury. Therefore, due to less play time, the selectors had picked Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh ahead of Deepak Chahar in India squad for Asia Cup squad.
