India’s Best Playing XI for T20 World Cup 2024
1. Rohit Sharma (C)
The obvious player of team India who will be going to lead the team in the upcoming World Cup. Also, his comeback to the team is a sign that Rohit will continue playing in the T20 format. Rohit has always been an impact player of the team in every format and his experience and game skill are still at its best. Rohit will be leading India’s playing XI.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal
BCCI have picked Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead the likes of Ruturaj, Gill and KL Rahul. Jaiswal is being seen as the next Virendra Sehwag. He was nominated for Emerging Player of the Year (2023). Jaiswal had an excellent IPL and he has the ability to give a quick start to the team in power-plays. The Rajasthan Royals’ youngster is the best option to open the innings with skipper Rohit Sharma.
3. Virat Kohli
Initially it was assumed that Virat will not be there in T20 World Cup 2024 because he has not played in T20 format for a long time. There were rumors that Kohli was not in the plans of BCCI for T20 World Cup. However, everything is clear now as he has been selected. Kohli will be suitable for number 3rd position. The comeback of the run machine is surely a strength booster for the nation.
4. Surya Kumar Yadav
Surya Kumar Yadav is one the best T20 batsman all over the world as per the ICC ranking. SKY is very famous for his unique shots and wide range of shot selection. SKY didn’t perform well ODI WC23 but he can be an impactful player for team India in the T20 format.
5. Sanju Samson (WK)
This position was the most difficult to choose. The selectors have selected both Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson for the T20 World Cup. There are chances that both of them might get a place in the playing 11. However, in order to balance the team, only one of them can get a place in India’s playing 11. It would be better if Samson got to play ahead of Pant because Pant has been out of international cricket for a long time.
6.Hardik Pandya
Our first all-rounder will be Hardik Pandya who is a very talented bowler as well as a hard-hitting impactful player. Hardik is also the Vice Captain of the Indian team and he has the ability to lead the team. Pandya is not at its best at the present moment but he is definitely needed to complete the Indian team.
7. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is our second all-rounder of the team. Jadeja has brushed up his batting skills in the last few years so he can also bat very well in tough situations. Jadeja is a very experienced and quality player for the team. The fielding of Jaddu is always at the next level. He was not part of the last T20 World Cup due to injury but in this cup, he can find his spot.
8. Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah was also not part of the squad in the last T20 World Cup in Australia due to injury but he did an excellent performance in the ODI World Cup in India. Bumrah will be the most important player of India’s XI because his death over bowling is very sharp economic which is very vital in the shortest format of the game.
9. Mohammed Siraj
Siraj is a brilliant bowler of Team India in every format. Siraj is famous for his swinging deliveries. His bowling with the new ball has been so impressive since the last many tournaments. India has limited fast bowling options and therefore Siraj is likely to get a place in playing XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
10. Kuldeep Yadav
The selectors have picked two leg spinners, Chahar and Kuldeep. It would be good if the team goes with Kuldeep because he has been doing impressive in the recent phase. Kuldeep Yadav can destroy opponents with his skills and is also carrying good form in white ball cricket.
11. Arshdeep Singh
Fast bowling has always been an issue for Indian Cricket Team. Bumrah will be leading the pace attack of Indian team. Hardik is not a full time bowler and Siraj is not at his best form. Therefore, it is necessary to include another fast bowler in the playing XI and Arshdeep will be the best for this spot.
