Why Ben Stokes is not selected in England’s T20 World Cup 2022 Squad?

The reason behind Ben Stokes absence from England’s squad is that the player has taken an indefinite break from cricket. Ben Stokes also withdrew from the 5-match Test series against India to ‘prioritise his mental health’. Since then he has not returned. It was the decision of the all-rounder himself. Stokes is on an indefinite break from cricket and prioritise his mental wellbeing. He was unavailable for selection for the upcoming T20 World Cup that kicks off next month.

England and Wales Cricket Board said the following statement:

“Stokes was not available for selection and continues to take an indefinite break from all cricket to prioritise his mental wellbeing.”
