On 4th December, 2023, South Africa finally announced their squads for the home series against India. India is touring South Africa to play three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests. Indian Cricket team have already announced its squad for the series against Proteas. Let’s take a look at South Africa’s squads for India series.
The World Cup 2023 has recently been concluded and therefore a lot of players from different have been taking rests from bilateral series. South African skipper Temba Bavuma and fast bowler Kagiso Rabada have also opted for rest from the ODI leg of the tour. The two experienced players will be back for Tests. Aiden Markram is currently the captain of South Africa in T20Is and he has been given the responsibility to lead his team in ODIs in Bavuma’s absence.
Three players namely Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi will play only first two matches and skip the last match of the T20 series. They are also not part of the ODI squad as they will be preparing for the Test series.
