Why Jadon Sancho is not selected in England World Cup 2022 Squad?

The omission of Manchester United winger’s from England squad for World Cup 2022 has came as a surprise to many. Sancho was also left out of the previous camp in November 2021 and June 2022. At that time, his non-selection was quite justified because he did not get enough playing time under Ole Gunner. However, after the sacking of Ole, the 21-year-old regained his form under interim boss Ralf Rangnick. He is a regular starter in the team of Erik Hen Tag. Even after all this he was not picked in England squad for Qatar World Cup.
From all this, it is clear that Gareth Southgate do not consider Jadon Sancho in his plans. There are a lot of attacking option available in England. For Southgate, several other attacking players ranked ahead of Jadon Sancho like Bukayo Saka and Manchester City trio Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish.

Plenty of attacking options for England
Jadon Sancho has the ability and skill to be a regular starter for any team. However, England is stacked with a lot of attacking players. All of them are playing for the top clubs in Europe. In comparison to those players, Sancho still needs to improve himself.
