How Argentina could line up against France
Argentina have already suffered injury blow before the commencement of 2022 World Cup. Two players – Joaquin Correa and Nicolas Gonzalez have sustained injuries and therefore have been ruled out of the World Cup.
Starting from the back, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez is all set to keep the gloves for Argentina in their World Cup opener.
Coming to the defence, Tottenham defender Cristian Romero and Manchester City’s Otamendi are regular names in Argentina starting 11. However, United new signing Lisandro Martinez is also in line to make his World Cup debut. It would be no surprise if Lionel Scaloni chooses Martinez in starting 11.
Molina and Tagliafico are expected to start as left back and right back respectively. However, there is a little doubt regarding the left back position as veteran Marcus Acuna is also an option.
In the midfield, Paredes, De Paul, Rodriguez are expected to start. Argentina have suffered a massive setback as Giovani Lo Celso is not available due to injury.
Lionel Messi and Di Maria are permanent names in the attacking area of Argentina. Lautaro Martinez is all set to start as the main striker for Argentina in the World Cup at Qatar. The injuries of Joaquin Correa and Nico Gonzalez have limited the striker options for Argentina. Paulo Dybala is also not fully fit to start a match.
