IPL 2023 auctions took place in Kochi on December 23. All the ten franchises have build up their respective squad for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. Royal Challengers Bangalore didn’t do much in the IPL 2023 auction. They already had a strong squad because in the IPL 2022 Mega auction they retained its core players. The team released only backup players and therefore RCB’s playing 11 is expected to remain unchanged in IPL 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore went into the auction with a purse value of 8.75 crores. Many franchises spend huge money on various players. However, RCB restrained itself from spending big and played quite smartly in the auction. England’s Will Jacks was the most expensive player bought by RCB in the IPL 2023 Auction. There are rumors that Glenn Maxwell might miss the starting matches of IPL. In that case, Jacks could definitely make a strong impact for RCB. He will be perfect replacement for Maxwell because he is also a power-hitter as well as a decent off-spinner.
Royal Challengers Bangalore also bought left-arm seamer Reece Topley for an amoung of Rs 1.9 crores. RCB desperately needed a backup of Josh Hazlewood and Topley is best pick for that role. Topley suffered a lot of injuries that severely affected his international career. However, he is an ideal fit for T20s and could prove to be an asset in the death overs.
